i saw a photo of my friend with her son the other day and it brought to mind how little pictures i have WITH my kids. i had to dig this one out from our june yosemite trip. some of my favorite childhood pictures are seeing how different my mom was.. how young she was. i want to read into the picture and see if she's happy, what she's wearing, how she kept the house in the background, little details of how we lived back then… all that. my new mission: to be in the pictures too.
thanks for all the comments on the purging post. i wasn't officially ready to start giving away but since i didn't really make myself clear- im gonna go ahead and contact a few of you via email, if they change their mind, i'll repost what i have.
i've had other little thoughts about posting lately so im hoping to get better about it again. i miss the rush. it used to be such a rush.
speaking of being in the picture– chris and i were just talking about seeing elsie for the first time in the delivery room. probably one of my all time favorite pictures. and all time favorite layouts. gee im glad i was in it π LOL

this layout is gorgeous!

I want to join in your mission, I want to be in the pictures too! We mothers have tons of pictures of our children, yet so few of us in those pictures. I want my children to remember how I look when they were young.

You made me think about beeing in photos ourselves…I am always the one behind the camera…hmm, maybe I should join you in this mission ;o) I donΒ΄t have that many childhood photos, and not many with my parents and I. The few left are in pretty bad condition….sad.
Love your newbron layout!

Hey Jame,
Love that photo of you and Elsie. Yes I agree that we need to try and get in front of the camera and not always behind it. Hugs to you all from Montana.
Love ya!

I didn’t realize the purging started so I didn’t comment (regarding the purges) on the last entry! Hope I can still be included in your purge? π

YAY!!!! I’m glad you will try to be in front of the lense instead of always behind them….you will definitely treasure the moments captured and your children will be soooo happy to be able to have these memories preserved of their Mommy to look back on too!!! π

I am the one taking the pictures and I’m never in them too. My dad was the “photographer”. I have a lot of pictures of my mom but only a few of my dad. I wish I had more pictures of him.

Great LO! I hate that I have no pics of me and my youngest ds when he was born! We had a BAD camera back then and I had put them on a disc and now don’t know where it is π¦ I have made it a point to have more pictures with ME in them too! I’m thinking about purging some stuff too. I want to get rid of some of the clutter and things I know I’ll never use! Have a great weekend!

I too am never in the pictures with my kids… there are months with my daughter, that I am no where insite. But when my hubby finally does take a pic of me… well, it is most often blurry and out of focus. Oh well. I guess I should just set the self timer π

Love the intimate picture of you and Elsie. Beautiful layout!!! I too regret not having a picture of my daughter as a newborn. I had a an old
camera with a generic film, and when my husband took our picture together,
the camera spewed it out. So no newborn picture of her. Why do things happen in the right time? “Sigh” Anyway, you’re fortunate to have good
pictures during your special moments.

Hi Jamie,
Sounds like you are all keeping busy. Devin loves to look at Elsie’s pictures :). So funny you mention looking at old pictures and I was just looking at one of my mom and I and was thinking WOW look at my mom she was about my age in this picture. I was checking out her clothes etc. So crazy we are all grown up, when did that happen?

The LO is awesome. I have a picture of me and my son at the exact same angle as yours. I so agree with you that Moms need to be in pictures more, I think we are always behind the camera, we forget to get in front of it.

your last post of elsie looks like she’s already looking at the pics of you and her π …good point jame, i do the same thing when i look at my baby pics, and come to think of it, there arent enough pics with my mom when i was small. so thanks for shedding some light… i’m adapting your new mission: take more pics of me and the girls.

Oh, what a beautiful picture, and a wonderful LO.
Yes, I’ve thought about that lately too…to be more in the pictures….my kids might think I was absent all the time when they look at the pictures 30 years from now….but I was just behind the camera…
Have a great weekend.
