sunday outing

i had heard so many great things about the LA festival of books that when we had a free sunday yesterday, the kids and i were excited to go! well, 3 of the 4. if you follow me on twitter, you'd know that our teenage daughter was not thrilled about having to go. she did not win though, and i dragged her along 🙂 here she is stopping at the philippine literature booth, flipping through a filipino cookbook.

after that i was instructed no more photos of her, so i let her have that battle :)

the festival was at UCLA and we were just happy to walk the beautiful campus.

and so after a decent amount of sun and walking we left. we didn't stay long enough for one of my favorite chefs to go on stage and at the time i was okay with it, but now i'm rather bummed!

we stopped at a 7/11 for slurpees, where i brewed a great plan of bribery! kids, if i get you slurpees, i want to stop at this grassy field for pics for a little bit. ok mom :)

they were not very cooperative and my slurpee bribery failed. although i brought out one more bribery of a fruit by the foot and i was most pleased with the results 🙂

this is so typical of when i ask for pictures.

saturday today.. was a gorgeous day here! the kids kept asking me to take them on adventures because they didn't want to sit at home all day. (i love sitting at home all day!) so i did… i felt guilty locking them in all day 🙂 it was the least i could do since they let me sleep in till 9 today :)

a rarity

she is surrounded by girls who wear their hair up… in ponytails, with clips, bows, all those kinds of things. but she will normally have nothing to do with me touching her hair. which is why we keep it soooo short! today she requested i put a rubber band in her hair. i obliged. then she wanted 2 more. then another 2 more. 🙂 we didn't go anywhere today and these didn't last more than a few hours (which is like a record for her!) but it was crazy hot and it was nice to see her forehead. 🙂

she's also really into necklaces. these 2 that she wears are handmade 🙂 one was kira's when she was little and one that her auntie and cousin made with her. she wears them religiously. 🙂

ps those are my little kissmarks on her cheek. i couldnt stand to photoshop them out! 🙂

a high of 103, bubbles and a new haircut

i can't believe how hot it is! i knew that perfect 75 degree weather last week was too good to last! 🙂 we're mostly staying indoors with the AC, so when she requests to at least step outside, how could i resist? 15 min of bubbles is what i agreed to. 🙂 ha!

i've been scrapping a lot lately and it's just fun. i love it so much. 🙂 i just filled up another album and was making a mental note to pick up a new one, then last night i was cleaning out my closetand found a brand new one waiting for me. so nice to find treats like that! 🙂

i've been really bad about updating this blog. will be trying to get better about it next week. i am on facebook lots. 🙂 and am trying to get my twitter and facebook to be one. but as i am getting impatient with trying to figure it out, i'm wondering why i'm even doing it. it's just one more thing that i am sure i don't really need. 🙂

such a slacker!

i don't have any easter photos but i do have photos from a little trip to hollywood a few weeks ago! we went to the popular 'pink's' hot dog stand for the first time. after waiting in line for about an hour, we devoured the best chili dogs!

after the loooonnnng wait!

then a quick trip to a few stores nearby. this makes me laugh soooo much!

ha, so my life…

that's it! we've been busy with shoots and editing and getting ready for our class at reflections! there are still some seats, we'd love to see you! 🙂 they even have a blog going on– some fun eye candy there! and also trying to get things in order for our australia trip. last week we conquered passports for the munchkins!

new york city and australia

i love trips! 🙂
we have 2 exciting trips planned this year! chris is in the early
stages of planning a trip to NYC first week of june (2-4). if you are

then, the waters six clan is heading to Australia. chris is from australia and most of his family still lives there, we started this blog in 05 specifically to keep in touch with our kids as just chris and i went to AUS and we've long wanted to take the kids down there to see where he was born. we are so excited!

we'll be in melbourne and surrounding suburbs for the first three weeks of july. we've had some interest in shoots while we are there- contact me, we'd love to do some! i'm also planning on teaching a scrapbooking class while we're down there, more details to follow:)

i see they are all of elsie. going to scrap today, my other children! 🙂 we've been busy with baseball-tonight we have 2 games back to back, i'll be bringing our dinner in containers and eating it there. it's been amazing to watch elsie grow through the baseball seasons. the first year, we sat in the car alot listening to the backyardigans, last year she sat at my feet and did sidewalk chalk for hours, this year, she's climbing the hillside and digging holes with all the big kids. amazing! and not that we didn't already have a full sports schedule, kira has been invited to join a spring soccer league, that plays 2 games every saturday! it's going to be crazy as our wedding schedule (if you haven't been to the site in awhile, check it out, i finally added last year's images to the site!) is starting up as well, but we are so happy for her and it's good for her! 🙂 we like our teenager busy in sports rather than being distracted by those mysterious boys! 🙂

when she realized that too many photos were being taken, not enough concentrating on butterflies!
