pink!

it’s a girl!!!!! (we think!) 🙂

Pink037_copy

the doctor completely shocked chris and I by telling us we are having  a girl. we totally thought it  was a boy! unfortunately, the  umbilical cord was in the way of a perfect view, so next month, we will have another peek! (so glad we get so many ultrasounds, with all the other kids, i got only ONE each!) but she did say she was 90% sure, so i guess we will go with that! i was a little hesitant to start telling people it is a girl, in case it’s not, but oh well!- chris said it would make a funny story. 🙂

cute find

heard about  this store  from a mag that jennifer garner was in. it said she loved the cord skirt so much she bought one of each color. ha! wouldn’t that be nice! love seeing cute pregnant things. just thought i would share that with all you pregnant people out there.

also, please send good cooperative vibes on friday morning, will ya- we are going to have an ultrasound. REALLY hope we find out what the little munchkin is! it is SO hard being patient. 🙂

old toys

are new again. LOVE it when that happens!!!!!! caleb rediscovered cam’s LeapPad from a few years back.
(resorting to online photos, sorry.) 🙂

Leap

he has recently been playing with it for like 2 hours at a time. (love that!) totally gonna stock up on more books for christmas! if you don’t have one of these yet- and they have so many newer products too- GET ONE! 🙂
they even have headphones for long car drives! 🙂
and a halloween funny from caleb:
"Mom, you can be Pocahontas for Halloween since you are already brown!" according to him, i am the only ‘brown’ one in the family- everyone else is peach. haha–lol!!!!!! he fails to remember that Pocahontas is nice and trim and slim, and does not have a big ol’ belly. 🙂

good news and bad news

my man is home! 🙂 🙂 🙂 we missed him. we waters can only be apart from each other for so long before going completely nuts. so he went on a boy’s weekend (5days! long weekend!) to watch the Notre Dame game and then a Monday Night Football game. old buddies from 4th grade… nice to reconnect and just hang with people who could appreciate the college football hall of fame. i know i wouldn’t. lol.

chris was the little photojournalist too- he got such cool shots. 🙂 who would think a guy would take over 200 pictures at a football game? lol!
but the bad news, something funky happened to those little pins where my memory card goes into. so it’s in the shop for 7-10 business days. that means no halloween pictures this year. 😦 good thing the boys are going to be the same things they were last year. sigh, oh well. if you know my husband, you know he is so easy to forgive. the little charmer. 🙂

these boys

Boys_1i have been sick. my hubby has been out of town. (waaaaaaaaah!) it was just me and the boys this past weekend. i mostly laid on the couch and slept while the boys did who knows what. lol. they were really good most of the time. at some random times, they would totally bounce off the walls. maybe it was because i had kept them inside all weekend. maybe it was because they had resorted to eating peanut butter out of the jar because i couldn’t get up to make them something. lol- ok that only happened a few times. my sweet father in law had us over for steaks saturday night, thank God for that meal. 🙂 anyways, so of course the boys were rugrats, fighting every now and then.. being totally, incredibly loud at times..etc, etc. but then–as i hop online to check my email, cam comes to me, ‘come here, mom’. he takes me by the hand to the kids’ room, to my bedroom and the downstairs area. they picked up all the toys. they made my bed. they cleaned off the dining table. they folded the blankets and fluffed the pillows on the couch. it was beautiful. i was speechless. what did i do to deserve these lovebugs? i totally smile and laugh as cam says, "let’s try and keep it like this, ok?"

full plate

Fluteit has begun. the busy-ness of activities. it seems that kira has very little spare fun time on the weekdays. she started the flute and practices 20 minutes everyday. it is so cool to see the progress. it is so true- practice makes perfect! she is getting the hang of it! and she has joined the 5th grade drama team to perform Annie. love that movie. that is a 3 day a week, 2 hours at a time commitment. i am glad she is getting her feet wet with these activities now, before she goes to middle school.. so she can figure out which one she is going to continue with. and don't forget sports. she does softball in the spring. she enjoys all these things, but what she really wants to do in middle school is be a tigerette (junior cheerleader). i can't help but smile when i see her fill up her plate with all these things. she is so opposite of me. i did the piano, that's it. haha. can you believe that when she goes to bed at night, she is still NOT tired? she is such the little go-getter extrovert. 🙂

quotable caleb

he is nonstop, i tell ya.

all from just yesterday:

after trying some spicy chicken at dinner, "spicy is when your eyes are drippy."
after chris had called me a woman, "she's not a woman, she's just my mom."
after he had gotten in trouble and i was talking nicely to cameron, "fine, you two just go do your love thing!"
after receiving lots of snuggles from me, he says to kira and cam, "she likes me best you know."
after he snuggled buzz lightyear in bed, "buzz is my best guy ever."

pumpkins for my pumpkins

Pumpsi have always taken my kids to a pumpkin patch to get their pumpkins. we make a day of it, trek out there and play with the wheelbarrows, the assorted halloween-y structures and stuff they have to entertain the kids and take a gazillion pictures. so this year, when cam kept asking me when we would go i kept putting him off. i'm in LA people, there's not exactly pumpkin patches on every  corner. so to go means to plan and spend a good couple of hours. there and IN traffic. which sounds completely unappealing to me right now. so when we went to target today, we just happened to walk through the garden section and saw how cheap (4.00– you cannot beat that), big and nice the pumpkins looked. they totally wanted them. i wanted them. i was SO happy that meant we weren't gonna have to make the trek out to the patch. heehee. i felt like i cheated them of the memory, the tradition. but they really didn't care. and i am glad. 🙂

random shots from the week

Sporty

while at tennis… i LOVE this sight. my big kids doing their homework.

more waiting

Baby730_copy_1

my friend, shannon, mentioned that when you are pregnant, each week goes by so slowly. SO TRUE. each week, i check the pregnancy calendar to see what developments baby has made, and check to see how long until such and such happens. i look online at different people's ultrasounds and compare them. i am just amazed at the whole process. what little miracles babies are. 🙂 just lots of waiting, though. so, you can tell from my unenthusiastic title post that we weren't able to find out the sex. we saw the bum shot, and something in between the bum. the doctor said that it would appear to be a boy BUT it can still be a girl. i won't go into details. 🙂 the good news is that she is going to give me another ultrasound in four weeks, and by then, the 'part' should be adequately developed. my gut is telling me that it's a boy. we shall see. what else? today is the first time a stranger asked me if i was pregnant. i dunno. i find that kinda exciting. 🙂 i think this will be our last baby. so i am trying to truly enjoy this pregnancy, the little details, because after baby comes and years go by, you so quickly forget. i know this because my girl is ten. and it seems forever ago when i was naively asking the nurses how to change her diaper. so for now, i wait. as patiently as i can, yet grateful as ever.
