HI :)

I’ve been a fan of Christine Herrin (EVERYDAY EXPLORERS) from WAY back! Like teaching classes at the Scrapbook Oasis in Irvine back when Elsie was one year old?!! Crazy. I love her work so much, she’s beyond talented. She kindly sent me some stamps of the 2 things I love. Boba and Hawaii. Here are my projects 🙂

It’s summertime in LA and though we’ve been busy on the weekends, the weekdays are mellow and it hasn’t been crazy hot. I’m happy. I know I haven’t posted personal things on this blog in forever. Kira has graduated COLLEGE and now works full time. CAM graduated high school 3 years ago. And CALEB graduated high school a month or so ago. Els will be in 8th grade and loves all things beauty 🙂 Chris and I celebrated 21 years of marriage this year. ❤ Mind blown… I know. Screen Shot 2019-07-09 at 7.55.46 PM

March

March was all about FOOD! I used to take a lot of food photos but with this release, I realized I didn’t have as many as I use to? What happened? Maybe more of ‘in the moment’ happenings. Possibly self concious about taking photos in public. IDK 🙂 JWatersinstaseak

Edited to add. This was a sweet snippet from a Thanksgiving at the Rutland House. One of the few times Mama came to stay with us once we moved out of South Pas. All the kids were in the kitchen and us girls were all making food. So special.

I can count on Elsie to document a ton of photos though. Is that what I have to resort to now? 🙂

June!

Guys! It’s July but June and May were the busiest season of my life probably to date!! (edited to add, gosh I say this alot to this day. So dramatic!)

KPblogfullproject1

I also used a little mix of products for this project.  IGpost6_19  I am so excited that busy season is over so I can get using some stamps, once I order some pics of course. The ever going dilemma of taking way too many photos but not having them printed in time 🙂 Happy Summer!

Edited to add: 2025. I found that script torn out of that paper in my stash. Sent it in one of Elsie’s college care packages. See why I can’t get rid of anything? It’ll be useful one day!

October

It FINALLY got cooler in Los Angeles…. but I AM SO EXCITED for the holidays!!!

These numbers/time as well. Just when I think number stamps are not for me, a little color is all I need to change my mind! I really tried to venture away from my normal black ink this month… pretty proud of myself!  Time_1small  Time_3small

The clocks are really creative. I would never use something like this. Great pics to use it with though. Amazing airbnb in Malibu, me and CHris for his birthday.

Halloween DIY

I love that my girl is so into DIY! She made this costume herself- inspired by all the fun designs she’s seen online!

Who knew crumpling paper could be so effective! The hardest part was the painting of the skirt and actually finding a red skirt. Thank you Amazon! Otherwise, she knocked this out in a day.

This was Elsie in her LaurDIY popcorn costume. Idk what happened to the image 😦

August

a peek at the super cute fun school set, that doesn’t have to be just for school! 🙂

Edited: awww little Els starting Middle School. Walking with Kira and Colette and dad their dads from Spruce. So many playdates and sleepovers. So many changes coming in the next handful of years. I wish I could come and hug you and support you more. I hope you knew we were there for you and love you to pieces.

december daily 2016

Hello, how is it possibly nearly December?!? I’ve pulled some of my favorite holiday things for this year’s december daily. I HAVE NO IDEA how I dropped the ball last year and only managed to get barely anything done. I think starting just a few days early helps, so I’m ready for 2016 now! Here are a few things I will be using in this year’s 5×7 notebook.

One of the hardest parts I find about December Daily is keeping up with the photo portion of DAILY. I have a sub par printer that doesn’t print photos very well. Paper and graphics, just fine.. but photos, ehehhhhehhehe. I need to either get a better system or let go of the needing to be caught up with the photo part and just go with journaling and cute embellishments. SO this year will be interesting.. we shall see how it all unfolds.

But it’s still November and I’m happy to get this far on it, so patting myself on the back for that! 🙂  Decdaily2

October

October at Kelly Purkey is full of goodness! We got our goodies a little late so I only have this to share for now but I will have more to come soon!
This FAVORITE THINGS set is going to get a lot of use! I used almost all the stamps just in this spread!  KpNYfavoritefull
Chris and I went to NY this spring to celebrate my birthday. We came home to chaos and our lives have been somewhat crazy since that trip. So I like to just take a mental break every now and then and remember this sweet weekend and how life seemed somewhat normal then. I’ve had a ziploc full of memories for months waiting to be cut up and documented. SO glad I waited till now to get it done.

++Editing to add that this is the trip we came home to where Grampies was acting erratic and Chris took him to the doctor and we found out he had a brain tumor 😦 The next time we went to NY we came home to my mom getting a pace maker put in. Thank goodness Elsie ended up in NYC for college and we were able to have some other memories that were not health heavy related 😦

Studio Calico

These colors are so fun. I love it when Studio Calico pushes me out of my creative bounds. Magenta, yellow and navy?! Helllo!!! And fun patterns and touches of gold?! So in!! I had a busy few days before this was due. StoryboardSBfull

Edited: This was a really cool airbnb in Seattle. The kids thought it was creepy but it was vintage. It ended up being in the perfect location. Across the street from the ER, which later in the trip we took Chris to. He had taken some Benadryl and was not feeling right so off we went. This was before Jake’s wedding and we were supposed to shoot her wedding. Wasn’t sure he was gonna be up for it but he did in the end. All was beautiful and well. Later, Bryan came and stayed with us at an airbnb in Portland. That was cute too.
