dancing dancing!

mom i dont want to go to dance class, i want to go to dancing class. 🙂

she got all dressed up, even let me put a ribbon in her hair. she posed for pictures- this time with me AND chris in them, LOL. chris took these ones of her before class 🙂

in class she was a total riot. totally excited and participated. she flipped out when cinderella's bippity boppity boo came on.

i think after class was just as much as a hit as the actual class. there is grass and trees all around and she'd much rather play hide and seek than go home!

so much that a tantrum was brewing… here she's ignoring me…

im pretty proud of myself for breaking out the camera today! another mom even called me out on our first dance class session– noting i brought along the big daddy camera. sheesh!

old school!!

chris' graduation. that little frame has been with me since 1994. i had one in a similar frame with our prom picture but i seem to have misplaced it along the years. (what kind of scrapbooker am i?!) im gonna have to go to my mother in laws house and take some pictures of it. chris and i were at a wedding yesterday where during the father/daughter dance they were also playing a slideshow of the father and daughter. chris and BOTH thought at that instant that A- we are SO copying that, B- again– SO few pics of us WITH our kids.

and holy heck- in the month of september, i took a shocking 27 personal photos. that's just not right! just today i took e to the park, complete with her ariel sunglasses and pink scooter (thanks, J! :)) and i almost ran back inside to grab the camera, but didn't.

anyways, the reason i felt compelled to post this was because the other day i was driving by chris' high school (that's something i do daily) but this time, i went down this street to where i used to pick him up and eeeeeek, we'd ditch. back when our biggest concern of the day was hmmmm where are we going to have lunch today??? lol- isn't it funny that our concern wasn't- i hope we dont get caught ditching! — what can you say- last few months of senior year- total joke.

and omg! it just happens to be my cousin's birthday today (just looked at the calendar!) and she's the one who set me and chris up! crazy! happy birthday, chan!

us

i saw a photo of my friend with her son the other day and it brought to mind how little pictures i have WITH my kids. i had to dig this one out from our june yosemite trip. some of my favorite childhood pictures are seeing how different my mom was.. how young she was. i want to read into the picture and see if she's happy, what she's wearing, how she kept the house in the background, little details of how we lived back then… all that. my new mission: to be in the pictures too.

thanks for all the comments on the purging post. i wasn't officially ready to start giving away but since i didn't really make myself clear- im gonna go ahead and contact a few of you via email, if they change their mind, i'll repost what i have.

i've had other little thoughts about posting lately so im hoping to get better about it again. i miss the rush. it used to be such a rush.

speaking of being in the picture– chris and i were just talking about seeing elsie for the first time in the delivery room. probably one of my all time favorite pictures. and all time favorite layouts. gee im glad i was in it 🙂 LOL

it was one of those days.

where my 2 year old just did the typical 2 year old things that drive me batty. where half way thru the day, i threw in the towel and just plain gave up on trying to get things done. you won, elsie. productivity was non existent yesterday. today is a new day! i shall divide my time up and conquer!

in other news- i am purging nicely over here. i have a huge pile of stuff that isn't even opened yet. waiting to be sent to somebody in blog land. some of it is older, but if you are a true scrapbooker, you won't care 🙂 i want to get it out by the end of the week. i will be back!

social contract

last week we attended the boy's back to school night, where we learned about cam's classroom's social contract– basically the kids in the class came up with the rules that they thought were fair and posted them in the class. chris and i were pretty impressed with the things they chose! so tonight we decided to see what OUR kids would come up with on their own at home. i will have to post the boys later but kira's cracked us up SO much. she basically rolled her eyes at having to do this, we thought it was so cute of her to participate, LOL
"i promise… to be nice to my brothers, not to fight, to be responsible and helpful, to babysit when needed (unless something really fun is happening), to entertain elsie, to make my bed in the morning."
we were dying. the babysitting part was a riot. 🙂
i was going thru yosemite pics from freaking JUNE tonight and found these of her. A) i can't believe how much i lagged on editing them B) i can't believe how much she's grown since here C) i can't believe how fast from June till now has gone D) i want to go on vacation.

the other day she wanted to borrow my flats to school (im a 7) she couldnt get her foot in. she's an 8 now. i cant believe it!

i’m slacking

and i dont really know why! 🙂 i hurt my back so i dont want to sit at the computer long… yesterday i did, got lots of JACstuff done.

cam is starting band this year. we rented a trumpet today. whoa mama. once he makes some progress maybe i will film him and put it on the blog 🙂 a waters concert! 🙂

this is what elsie says when she sees me scrapbooking now… can i help you? meaning, can i play with the glue and use all your scraps and diecuts and put them in my pretty cinderella book????
why yes, you can.

kira used to do this too… notebooks filled with stickers and tags and whatever else she could find and save. she still has them too, under her bed. i love it. my girls inherited my scrapbook/packrat abilities 🙂

first day of school

aaaaaaaaah the hustle and bustle of the first day! the excitement! ohhh how i wish it would last all year! 🙂
we started the morning off early.. we drove kira to school but she decided that she could walk just as fast so she hopped out– i lOOOOVOE this picture of her so much. even with the hair in her face. she's just so ready. bag, binder, cell phone.

and i have to share what she did with her cover of her binder. because that is so important in middle school you know.. what's in the sleeve of your binder! 🙂

and we got to school early enough to miss people in this shot! amazing! 🙂

and though he didn't get in the same class as his BFF, we are praying for an amazing year anyways 🙂

after being here so much last year, when we walked up, it's like she all of a sudden remembered.. heeeeey.. i know this place! i love how little she is next to chris.

hello soccer season..we had a dads vs daughters soccer game this morning to start the season off 🙂 i knew it was going to be fun to watch because chris gets soooo into it.. those girls didn't know what they were getting into inviting dads to play 🙂

chris and i finished our august back to back weekends of weddings yesterday. i'm excited for the kids to get back into a schedule..and me too. my life turns into 2 hour block increments when school is in session. work at home for 2 hours. park for 2 hours. quiet time for 2 hours. pick up kids and homework for 2 hours..etc etc etc 🙂

monday

chris and i survived our first double header weekend! we had 2 weddings, 8 hours each on saturday and sunday. we are exhausted but had an amazing time! ive been meaning to post some new pics of elsie with this adorable dress we won from leila & ben. its such a cute cut and pattern, i LOVE it! thanks you guys!! chris posted one of my favorites here and here are a few more 🙂

and after being a total rascal, she finally caved in 🙂
