italy…part 1 of ???… there’s just so much goodness

i can't even edit in order.. i am posting random pics that caught my eye today. sigh, i miss this place! we did a few touristy things while there.. but really, we were in the middle of everyday italy.. south of naples and we LOVED it. i loved seeing the neighborhoods, seeing the people.. seeing the grit of everyday life. and since i can only handle touristy things in little bits.. i was so glad to share this trip with the people. it was such a people trip. we seriously made the most amazing friends. we are so thankful. it's amazing how you can live across the world, speak different languages.. but still connect.

chris hung out with emily's husband a bit while i taught. this was taken while hiking up a volcano.

chris got this one of me teaching.. it's not the best photo but i LOVE it sooo much because me and my new friend paola are cracking up. my translators were the best. THE BEST!

good stuff.. FOOD. get OUT! nutella pizza?! deliciously insane. 🙂

my new favorite appetizer of all time. the potato croquette. i will dream about it.

best pizza ever. good part- it's all for one person. bad part- i have to cut it myself?!

and i love that they have little dessert bars like this. why can't our starbucks be stocked like this? seriously, that would be dangerous.

we met people from france, netherlands, turkey and norway.. and so on the flight home, we couldn't help but befriend a traveller from ireland and gave her a lift to the train station 🙂

we bought a charger the other day, yippee! tomorrow is our last morning in italy and we will head to london for 2 nights.. then h o m e. i miss my bed. 🙂 but we have spent our days with new friends, delicious meals and lots of walking. we are whooped.it has been such a great time. i will miss our new friends.. and the gelato..i will miss the gelato, lol! we will be home by the end of the week to wish kira a happy birthday and then shoot a wedding the next day. gee i am tired just thinking about it 🙂

for all the encouragement.. unfortunately we are in a small town that doesnt have a best buy or a camera store or anything like that here.. we are holding out hope for monday when we go to rome.
although we had an AMAZING time today and had a full battery today so if this is all i get for the whole trip, i will be okay. i think.

FYI

i know some of my readers don’t like me mixing my jac business here but i am pretty darn proud of this, and this is my blog so i really can do whatever i want 🙂
i just wanted to announce our new { j a c } blog!
i got pretty computer geeky with it, my first experiences with HTML and all that.. it’s pretty basic but again, i am pretty darn proud of myself for getting it going. 🙂
so there you go. with wedding season just around the corner, we thought it’d be nice to give jac some of it’s own glory….and we have a boatload of engagement sessions coming up that will go there. this blog isn’t going anywhere– there will still be a massive amount of family photos and scrapbooking over here 🙂

weekday treat

on monday, chris and i headed up to san fran for another napa wedding! i love it because it's not too far from home, but far enough where we get to stay away for a night!

and on tues we had the day to pretty much veg before we headed home.. we thought we would meet up with my cousin for lunch but she ended up having to take the day off from work with her oldest girl. we were so happy! 🙂

it's always so nice to have some quiet time with chris. with the hustle and bustle of our good but chaotic home, it's so important to have time to reconnect. i propose that we get away monthly 🙂

and now.. back to home life- today, we've got a dance recital and baseball game and i've got major layouts to make. 🙂 happy wednesday!

what is it about weddings that get me all sappy? seeing that nervous bride walk down the aisle? seeing that grown man kiss his mother as he joins his bride?

one of the top 10 things to do in sydney

okay, probably in your lifetime. 1400 stairs. no bathroom breaks. if you get too tired, your whole group will have to go back. could i do it? at the time i was feeling quite weary and i am scared of heights. but i was torn, miss this exciting event to nap? what a wimp. but in the end, they wouldn’t allow pregnant women to climb, so that made the decision a whole lot easier. 🙂 the whole system was quite well planned. they make you take this little course on climbing, you are harnessed to your group of people, you have these cool headlight things, and walkie talkies. some people in the group paid an extra 100 dollars i think to climb during the sunset. chris made it up in time to see the sunset without having to pay the extra money. chris said there was hardly any wind. perfect time to climb. and the view. look at the freaking view. in the lobby of the climb office, they have all these photos of famous people at the top of the bridge. nicole kidman, matt damon, cate blanchett, etc. kinda exciting. these are the pictures they took of chris up at top.

in sydney

we sadly left melbourne the other day. here at our hotel, they charge up the kazoo for the internet, so this will be quick. we are climbing this bridge after breakfast:

and we went to bondi beach yesterday. look at this! it’s a pool that is filled with ocean water. so amazing. i loved it.

we head home early tomorrow. get this: we leave friday morning here, and get there friday morning. crazy.

up close

early yesterday morning, auntie joey found a koala in her front tree. chris climbed up and had some quality time with it. 🙂 look how close he was! he was able to get some petting in. such a cool thing to see a koala in the wild. the day before we were out on a walk and saw another in a neighbor’s tree. and joey told us that one time a baby koala came down into russell’s arms and they played with it for hours. that would be the best. my kids would love it. i would love it. the ability to have the wild pet in your yard sometimes, but not really the responsibility of actually living with it. haha.
