mom i dont want to go to dance class, i want to go to dancing class. 🙂

Img_9803

she got all dressed up, even let me put a ribbon in her hair. she posed for pictures- this time with me AND chris in them, LOL. chris took these ones of her before class 🙂

Img_9801

outside of class- what a little ham!

Img_9806

in class she was a total riot. totally excited and participated. she flipped out when cinderella's bippity boppity boo came on.

Img_9823

i think after class was just as much as a hit as the actual class. there is grass and trees all around and she'd much rather play hide and seek than go home!

Img_9827

so much that a tantrum was brewing… here she's ignoring me…

and my fave from the day!

Img_9847

im pretty proud of myself for breaking out the camera today! another mom even called me out on our first dance class session– noting i brought along the big daddy camera. sheesh!

and then finally home. we love dance class 🙂

social contract

last week we attended the boy's back to school night, where we learned about cam's classroom's social contract– basically the kids in the class came up with the rules that they thought were fair and posted them in the class. chris and i were pretty impressed with the things they chose! so tonight we decided to see what OUR kids would come up with on their own at home. i will have to post the boys later but kira's cracked us up SO much. she basically rolled her eyes at having to do this, we thought it was so cute of her to participate, LOL
"i promise… to be nice to my brothers, not to fight, to be responsible and helpful, to babysit when needed (unless something really fun is happening), to entertain elsie, to make my bed in the morning."
we were dying. the babysitting part was a riot. 🙂
i was going thru yosemite pics from freaking JUNE tonight and found these of her. A) i can't believe how much i lagged on editing them B) i can't believe how much she's grown since here C) i can't believe how fast from June till now has gone D) i want to go on vacation.

the other day she wanted to borrow my flats to school (im a 7) she couldnt get her foot in. she's an 8 now. i cant believe it!

jeans

i cannot tell you how different my boys are from my girls- or kira at least 🙂 each year they hate going school shopping, and for the last few years, i haven't really had to.. they wear the same things, take pretty good care of them.. and our weather doesn't have any crazy extremes so they can wear shorts and tee shirts all year long 🙂 so for the first time in about 4  or 5 years, cameron got jeans. 🙂

Img_1125

i dont want it to seem like we are witholding new clothes from him… it's just that he DOESNT care 🙂 and he LIKES wearing shirts and tees ALL the time. it could be raining out and he will want nothing to do with the one track suit pants he owns. 🙂 but anyways, yesterday while i dragged them out to get new clothes, cam voiced a desire to try jeans on.. so he did, he liked, i bought. chris came home later and noticed immediately. it's different to see his legs covered 🙂

caleb took this next pic. i love it so. 🙂 he has a serious picture bug right now.. so we're going to let him use one of our old cameras for a bit– can't wait to see what he gets!

the summer has been flying by. i want to say it's been a relaxing summer with nothing to do all week long.. but it hasn't. just been plain busy. tomorrow is 'operation-media-free' day though. will be interesting to see what we end up doing. i vote for bake-a-thon 🙂 i will post again with something exciting. hopefully. 🙂

ps- cam just walked by and said ever so disapprovingly.. 'you haven't blogged in 5 days??'..walking away, shaking his head.

almost 2 and a half

Img_0289

as we were heading out of the house today- she stopped and said, 'wait, wait.. one green, one pink.' how could i not encourage her individuality?! 🙂

we can't believe how fast time has gone (i know i am a broken record). she has said and done some of the cutest things lately… last night we watched nim's island.  (which btw, if you happen to watch the previews, there is one on there for angel wars-yay!) and she calls watermelon, nima-nima-nima. so she kept calling nim that. and when it came to a close up of someone clicking on their Mac mouse, she said, mommy has that clicker! 🙂 she's also big on saying sorry. which i LOVE. she's also big on "doing it myself" which tests every ounce of my patience levels. ah, the wonderful age of two 🙂

taking the day off

after a chaotic day with elsie in the craft room, it was suggested i take the day off today, LOL.

Img_7319

yesterday's craft was to make a bird feeder with peanut butter. while i was assisting the kids, elsie was sticking her hand in the jar of peanut butter, licking it off her fingers.. and managed to get a handful of bird seed in her mouth… which she continued to spit out ever so dramatically. while the other craft leader was giving directions to the kids, elsie stood up on the chair and said, "no no no no". there were other instances that made the day verrrrry long for mommy. she'd sense that mommy was losing it, she'd make this face at me and say, 'do you like this face mommy?' or 'you happy, mommy?' which of course, i could deny neither 🙂 so today we are taking the day off. we'll drop all the kids off and just have some downtime. we'll give the craft break room a break from elsie. 🙂

day camp day one

this week we are volunteering at our church's day camp– well, me with crafts and photos. the boys go to class and kira is a counselor. elsie is to tag along. she did her best considering day camp is right smack in the middle of nap time. my lovely sister in law is here from WA so we are playing tag with elsie between her class and mine. by the end of the day, this was els. "i ti-red. i want blue blankie. i wanna go hoooommmme."

Img_7239

lovely. but i did manage to get them somewhat together – not really a great effort on my part– a quick pic 'for daddy' as he is away on business. i love that caleb is still totally into craft time.. dig the visor and necklace! 🙂

Img_7241

a quick fill of the tummies at in n out. our FAAAAAAAVorite. Img_7242

and a sweet one of my sister in law with elsie. it has been fun chasing all of our kids (between us we have 7) all day long! she has bonded with els during this trip.

Img_6769

and i just have to point out that chris rented this fun lens and put some of my most favorit-est lovel-iest wonderful-ist pictures of elsie on our jac blog if you wanna peek 🙂

cleaning out caleb's school work from last week to get ready for this week and came across this:

Img_2795

he is SOOO cute. we talk about him being little but strong 🙂
when we took him in for his 7 year check up the doc was surprised that he weighed so little.. that he was the average size of a 4-5 year old. our little guy.

Img_0439

happy monday, people!

quotable caleb

he is nonstop, i tell ya.

Funny_copy_1

all from just yesterday:

after trying some spicy chicken at dinner, "spicy is when your eyes are drippy."
after chris had called me a woman, "she's not a woman, she's just my mom."
after he had gotten in trouble and i was talking nicely to cameron, "fine, you two just go do your love thing!"
after receiving lots of snuggles from me, he says to kira and cam, "she likes me best you know."
after he snuggled buzz lightyear in bed, "buzz is my best guy ever."

so he sleeps

Sleep_1

yesterday evening at 6:15 pm, all heck broke loose in the waters house. mom was cooking dinner. cam was bouncing off the walls. kira was running her food network tv show in the kitchen. and caleb was screaming bloody murder.

“i waaaaaaaant to eeeeeeeeat!!!!” (who does this kid think he is?!) “i waaaaaaaant daaaaaaaaadddy to sit next to meeeeeeeee!!!” (ok, if daddy were home, that could be done… but since he wasn’t that just made matters worse.) “myyyyyyy throooooooat huuuuuuuuurts!!!” you get the picture.

needless to say, dinner came… he ate a few bites… and he went to sleep. right there. gotta love when they do that. i finished my dinner in peace. clicked a few pictures. look at those toes.. yummy. 🙂 took him to bed. which is where he stayed until 6:30am the next morning. man, 12 hours of sleep. if only we could get a night’s sleep like that!
