April

IMG_7757 Checking in and reflecting on my SEVEN times I blogged in March! High five for me! 🙂 My intention this year was to blog a little more regularly. I didn't set a schedule but I just knew I wanted to blog MORE. So I'm really happy that I was able to do it so much for March. I need to wrap my head around April now! Here's my latest wall inspiration at my desk. I don't think I'll ever take down the Vincent Van Gogh quote. It's one of my faves. As for everything else, they're from Paislee Press and Studio Calico. Loving changing it up every few months. So where to go from here….. lately I've been sharing my design team projects. What do we think about that? What do you guys want to see? More of that? Stuff around LA (where I live), kid stuff (always hesitant to share my kid's stuff though but might do it if it's sorta general, nothing specific) maybe some inspiration I'm seeing online? We'll see. I tend to be a whatever strikes my fancy at the moment blogger. Anyways, just wanted to share my latest wall love and say hello for the month of APRIL! xo

New KP release with Christine Herrin

KPsprbreak

I'm beyond thrilled to share a peek of the Christine Herrin collection with Kelly Purkey! The stamp and kit release are live on Mon 28th at noon and you can check them out here!  I haven't had a chance to play with them yet as I've had my daughter's 10th birthday party and Easter to get through but now I have a week before spring break and I intend to use my spare time playing with these goodies! I don't know why our spring break is so late, usually we have it the week before easter or the week just after easter. Anyways, I thought I was mad about it but I'm actually liking having one more week to have my schedule in place then a week of sleeping in!!!!!! 🙂 Whether you're on break or not, hope you can pick up some of these goods. As with many of KP's products, they tend to sell out, so make sure you grab them while they're freshly stocked! Happy Monday!

Studio Calico April Preview

I cannot believe we are going to be in April next week! 2016 is flying by! Here's April's moodboard for FILM CLUB. I have to say, this kit had me gasping at nearly every patterned paper choice. That's a good thing!! I love them all!  Screen Shot 2016-03-22 at 7.52.16 AMI mean, just look at those colors! Heart eye emoji here! Here's a few of my previews for the month. The SB main kit is so packed with fun elements. I know that I will be able to make so many more projects just from this kit. Mental note, must not hoard!! :)  Screen Shot 2016-03-22 at 7.48.54 AM  The heart stickers that come in the main SB kit and add on scream Mrs. Grossmans to me, take me back to my youth!Screen Shot 2016-03-22 at 7.48.40 AM  A little planner peek. The water check off stickers, brilliant!! Screen Shot 2016-03-22 at 7.49.19 AM  Lovely stamp set by Life Love Paper. I usually am a bit stumped at these "building" kinda sets but this one has so much potential. Definitely gonna need to play with it more. It's in the SB main kit. Screen Shot 2016-03-22 at 7.49.07 AM I'm hoping to get my hands in this kit a bit more to have more to show at Studio Calico's Reveal on the 1st! Check back then! :)

3 kelly purkey projects

I have really enjoyed playing with Kelly's stamps this month. It didn't hurt that I got her entire set of inks in the mail yesterday so I will totally preface by saying that they inspired both of these projects because the colors are so pretty and I wanted to use ALL OF THEM! :)  Jamiewaterssong Here I used the playlist stamp set and primarily used the LALALALALA stamp. That stamp is so perfect as I live in LA and I feel like it can be used for that and the song sense! :)  Jamiewaterssong1 Can I just say how hard it is to photograph white in the winter? Cringe. Sorry. JamiewatersXO

I had envisioned an entire page of these XO stamps but thought after I used all 16 inks that they looked pretty good. I didn't plan on them fitting within the 3×4 card but it was just the right pop of color and border so there you go!

One more layout for the month! Partyof2full (1)

Hop over to the shop before she sells out, again! These guys are going so quick! :)

6×8 handbook, yay!

I'm so excited about this. I have been a 12×12 layout scrapbooker for almost the whole 14 years I've been scrapping. Sometimes I'll do an 8 1/2×11 but for the most part it's the basic paper layout that I have loved. Part of me taking a break a few years ago was because I felt super burned out on the same designs I've been using for so many years. So last year when the planner craze hit and the midori craze hit, I was so excited to take on new forms of memory keeping and documenting. Over the weekend, this beauty arrived. I have been on the fence about any sort of pocket scrapbooking basically since the start but I have to say that this album helped give me a little push 🙂 Also, working with KP and Paislee Press helped too! They use lots of pocket scrapbooking elements so I am excited to keep them all together in this album.  IMG_5834 Here are my first spreads for the book. I love the 6×8 format, it's not too overwhelming. I realize a few years back I did an 8×8 December Daily and I'm surprised it didn't hit me how much I love that format. So here we go!  Paislee_let'stalkabout_layoutbyjamiewaters  Paislee_let'stalkabout_layoutAbyjamiewaters I'll be sharing more bits and pieces of this book along the way! Thanks for looking!

So many lessons

There are so many things I would like to teach my four children. How to cook, how to clean, how to learn, love, let go. So many that I can sometimes find parenting overwhelming and need to crawl under the covers for a little to let it all settle down. I know that after doing this for nearly 21 years that I'm doing my best and even some days, I could have done better. One of my favorites is to let it go. Chin up. Get back up. Don't stay on the ground. Mentally, emotionally, everything. I made this little page in my traveler's notebook using Kelly Purkey Bushwick stamps.   Bushwickfull One of my favorite quotes I have come across is from Scott Cormode, "I want to prevent my children from pain, but I also want my children to have the resilience that only comes from pain." Sometimes, harder said than done! The lessons we learn from hurting are always so powerful a few years after the fact. My goal is to be there for my children while they're weathering that storm and of course, the time of celebration after it passes.

paislee press 2016

Paisleepress-2016-meettheteam-prv700I'm so excited to be working with Liz and her crew for 2016! I have been a fan of Liz' work for many years, she is so darn good at what she does! I really wish I had my stuff in order like she did. She makes it all look so easy and so flawless and classy. One year, I had bought a photo template from her as a last minute christmas present. Of course the deadline to order and get it in the mail in time for the holidays were like that day and I couldn't figure out how to run some action. SHE LET ME CALL HER ON THE PHONE in a panic and talked me off the ledge. That was like 5 years ago and I will never forget her kind heart for helping me. So here is my first page with her designs. I am a mostly paper designer but every now and then I see some digital designs that I am dying to play with so I go the digital route. I did that for this one but in the future I will do a little mix, some digital but mostly hybrid. I'll be printing out Liz' designs to use in my pocket pages, my scrapbook layouts and my Midori Traveler's Notebook. SO HAPPY! 🙂 Hop over to the lily pad to see how these other awesome designers use Liz' amazing products!  Paislee-letstalkabout-jamiewaters

Kelly Purkey stamp release

Screen Shot 2016-02-28 at 8.12.18 PMIn case you missed it yesterday, Kelly Purkey released a bunch of fun new stamps! Head over here to see them. I'm excited to get that lowercase alphabet in use and record what I'm listening to right now with this new February Kit!  Screen Shot 2016-02-28 at 8.16.29 PM

I'm thrilled to be part of Kelly's creative team this year. She's got a super cool eye for design and has the best saying for stamps, always keeping it real! 🙂 Love her and excited to create with her! Hope you can pop by her shop and see all her latest goods. 🙂

my new hello forever studio calico planner

I received my new planner in the mail last week and I have to admit I've been a bit nervous to dive in! There's something exciting but intimidating about a blank canvas that scares me off! Well we are almost halfway done with February so I knew I needed to get in there and get some groundwork done.  HelloforeverI chose these One Little Bird stamps to fill in my numbers. They were a little big so I had less square space for the calendar but I like them bold like that, I think I prefer that over my own handwriting for the numbers, just a little more uniform.  Screen Shot 2016-02-18 at 12.38.31 PM Happy to report I only made one mistake and that was just leaving the zero off on day 20. Phew! I used this ink and had zero bleed through. Now I just need to add some more color, but wanted to show you before all that took place. 🙂
