national scrapbooking day!

can you believe that this hobby has it’s own day?! LOL!
here’s one of my very first layouts.. back in 2002. single photo, letter stickers, black and white, bit of patterned paper, blues… still some of my faves.

we were living in VA at the time, all i had was a point and shoot film camera, a few stickers and some paper from my very first order from 2peas. 5 years later. little did i know how much joy this hobby would bring me. i’m so glad i started scrapping when i did. i have so many albums now.. lots of things jotted down that i know i would have otherwise forgotten. all i have to say is that my kids better marry into the appreciating kind or mama is not giving up her books! 🙂

my own little thoughts on current scrapbooking supplies:
i am getting clear stamped out. not that they aren’t a great idea, they are..if i were the neat and organized type who could actually put them back where they belong, it would be awesome… i just prefer peel and stick. 🙂 i looooove these new doodlebug stamps…the tag set!!! AHH! CUTE!!! but i probably won’t get them. because i am a lazy stamper. and i already have so many stamps. and i love stickers too much. people, bring back the stickers!! there are still sticker lovers out there!!! saw these and fell in love too. sigh. this is one of my favorite lines from cha. love the fun colors. 🙂 also love all of her stuff.  gorgeous gorgeous! again.. love the stamps but wish they were stickers. and the paper  is awesome. love it. can’t stop using these up.  so cute. 🙂 and while i had great hopes for their embossed chipboard, it didn’t quite come out as i thought it would.. but that’s okay, they have made it up to me in their gorgeous jolie paper. 🙂  excited to get these.  and as pretty as these are, oh how i wish they made them like their certifiable stamps… self inking, etc. i hope this post doesn’t sound too critical.. i am totally appreciative for all the creative stuff that comes from you manufacturers. 🙂 i love my supplies. oxox

there you go. more scrapbooking talk than most of my family cares to read about. 🙂 no worries, i will post some elsie pictures soon.. she got her bangs trimmed today! 🙂

happy NSD! 🙂 there are lots of NSD things all over the web .. check em out. have fun.

  1. I am SO with you – admitting you’re a lazy stamper. At first I thought clear stamps were ‘the answer” but I rarely use them, despite there being so many adorable ones. I can barely gather enough oomph to use the wood mounted ones, which are almost as easy as can be. Love stamps, mind you, but stickers: peel, smack down, done. LOVE that!

  2. strange. I thought there was something wrong with me. I have so many sets of stamps that just sit and stare at me. I get the guilts, seriously…stamps are expensive!
I hemmed and hawed over the new 7gypies stamps at a LSS the other day. For a good 30 minutes I was picking ’em up, setting ’em down…I finally opted for stickers and chipboard.
You totally made my day today.
    :)Thanks again, Chrissy

  4. I know what you mean about stamps – sometimes I don’t even want to be bothered with the clean-up and really, how hard is it to wipe something clean – maybe I just need more caffeine!!
I was wondering if you would have any advice for someone who is thinking of starting their own blog… is it hard from a technology standpoint?? I’m thinking it would be fun but I have no idea what it involves in terms of techno-savvy skills. Would love your take on things. I’m thinking of typepad.
    Thanks so much,
    Alexandra
