the gift that keeps giving

a few years ago, i became obsessed with the movie, waitress. Untitled-1

tell me you saw the wonderfulness that it is! the movie itself gives me goosebumps. i love it. the tragic true story of the writer/director breaks my heart. 😦

chris being the total stud gift giver that he is, enrolled me in a local pie class, taught by penny of penny's pies. penny taught a private class at her home for kira and i and we came home with 3 pies and a quiche. our lives have been changed. penny is an awesome teacher, very easy to love. πŸ™‚ i love making my own crust, i feel so betty crocker πŸ™‚ quiche is a pretty regular thing around here, i think this last one was probably my best crust yet. heavenly! i wish i had some leftovers now! so like i said. chris was pretty smart to give me a gift of a pie class. our family will continue to reap from it's lesson πŸ™‚

  1. I never saw the movie…I’ll have to rent it soon. I think it is a brilliant gift idea…better than my cousin who gave his wife a subscription to Jenny Craig & the local gym (said she was getting a little hefty).

  2. Chris seems like such a romantic! It’s a practical gift, sure, but it’s so unique and so so thoughtful that you can’t say the gift was for him. Well, maybe a little, but what a great idea! Obviously he put thought into it instead of getting you a new perfume or whatnot, so that’s what counts.

  4. I just saw this movie like 3 weeks ago. It was sent to me by mistake and it sat there for 2 months before i watched it. I sat there thinking what an idiot I was to have it sit there that long when I could have been watching it over and over again. love, love, love that movie!
I feel like watching it now lol

  5. Oooh, I love quiche. It’s so easy to make. I also have a fav peaches and cream pie that employs sour cream in the mix.
I must confess though that I purchase my crusts. If you have any tips or recipes to pass along, I’m open. My success with making pie crusts is nill.
